How to Clean Above Ground Pools

Swimming has always been a fun activity for kids, because they get to play and exercise at the same time. They usually spend most of the time in the water until their parents will tell them to stop. Above ground pools are very convenient to have, especially to those families who love spending time outdoors. Since these things are directly exposed to air, it's important that you know how to clean it. Above ground pools that are dirty will cause skin irritation to those people who are going to use it. To maintain a clean pool, here are some things that you should do:

• Any swimming pool requires the right chemical components. To make sure that it has everything it needs, use a test kit to check it out. This will help you decide if you need to add more chlorine to it. Once you have added the right amount of chlorine, turn on the filter and allow it to settle for about two hours. If your bank account allows, you can install a chlorinator that automatically fixes any imbalance. To make sure that the components are just right, try to test it again. Take note that the amount of chemical that you put should be proportional to the size of your swimming pool.

• Take time to vacuum your above ground pools regularly, especially if you are using it every day. This is required, especially if your pool is located under a tree, because leaves will fall, therefore, adding debris to your pool. Doing this everyday will prevent algae from growing around or in the pool.

• Your filter can't do the entire job for you, so make sure that you clean all the sides of the pool at least twice a week. Brush it off carefully, and the filter will take out all of the dirt for you. Take note that this is the part where there isn't so much movement, so you have to pay attention to it.

• Make sure that you backwash the filter, so that it can remove any debris, leaves or algae that are lingering in your above ground pools. This will also prevent it from coming back or being stagnant in the water.

• It would be good if you can add a solution to prevent algae from forming. Just make sure that the amount is right for the size of your pool.

• If you want to get rid of any bacteria, do a regular shock treatment. This is usually done in combination with chlorine chemicals to make sure that the water is safe and clean. Leave it for a few hours before using it. It would also be good to test the chorine levels to make sure that your pool is ready.

If you want to keep your pool functional, you have to clean it regularly. Keeping it dirt free will ensure you of its safety. You can't be careless when it comes to the health of your kids, so take time to read the things that were mentioned above. Maintaining it properly will allow you to maximize its use.
